31st May 2008 - No to Heathrow march

Local people against any further expansion of Heathrow came together to march from Heathrow to Sipson Recreational Ground, to express their anger against a 3rd runway and a terminal 6.  Over 5,000 people attended, there were families, students, groups, organisations and political groups of all persuasion.

91.8 Hayes FM was there with the marchers and witnessed a local event that made the news across the world!!

At first there was nothing and then from the corner of Hatton Cross station they came, not hundreds but thousands..!!

31st May 2005 - No to Heathrow  The Boroughs of Hillingdon Ealing and Hounslow have said NO. In this picture, from left to right, we have Ray Puddifoot, the leader of Hillingdon Council, next to him, Richard Brough, who has the freedom of the borough and in the middle, the local MP for Hayes and Harlington, John McDonnell, all of whom have worked tirelessly for the No campaign. 
A lot of groups were there, Hillingdon Friends of the Earth, Left List and in this case the Green Party. 31st May 2005 - No to Heathrow

The marchers headed into Sipson Village which will not exist should the government agree to further expansion!! 31st May 2005 - No to Heathrow 
31st May 2005 - No to Heathrow  Yes, there was a message, but there was also time for a bit of fun.  The day had a sort of family atmosphere as well..
