HAYES FM - FILM & MEDIA, of which 91.8 HAYES FM is one part of what we do, is a PROJECT, and like all projects there is a start date and an end date.If I am honest, I could not have beensure that wewould last 1 year, that was my first objective, and the fact it has been achieved is a pretty good result!!!!

Over the past year, 91.8 Hayes FM has worked with over 120 local community and voluntary groups, offered 140 voluntary and work experience placements, worked in partnership with 14 localschools, the local college and 6 universities, a range of local business and built strong links with our partners in print and broadcasting, includingthe BBCto deliver a range of local news, interviews, reports, live outside broadcasting.

If its quality radio you are after, then 91.8 Hayes FM is the best there is in West London, that there is no doubt, the argument has been made and won.

It's not what we say, its the way we say, it's not what music we play, its the way we play it.In music terms, we playa range of music unlike anything you will hear on your FM dial or any dial for that matter, truly reflective of our area and the new world around us!!

The radio station is different, it's original and it's innovative.

As Managing Editor, I am hugely proud of what we have achieved, especially in the last 4 months, but there is still some way to go if 91.8 Hayes FM will truly have a 'Act Local Think Global' outlook, and meet the central values and ethos of the organisation.

In the next year, Hayes FM will aim to position itself, as the local radio station in our area for people who care about where they live and the world around them.

Over the next 12 months, Hayes FM will bring to air, local debates and discussions in schools, community centres and local councils, community question times in all our areas.

In addition, Hayes FM is planning to work closely with all our friends and partners in Radio in our area, across the country, across Europe, South Asia and the North America, to link communities across the world. The aim is to interact local people with people just like you and I, so get involved!!

This is a 3rd way of looking at Radio, where Radio and Journalism comes together and embracesresponsibility, thatis so lacking in much of modern media, a responsibility that effects positive change, be it local or global, change forsocial gain, change for cohesion, integration and regeneration, empowering all peoples who have a similar ethos and value system,to come together to be the difference and be thechange...we are getting there a little more every day!!

I guess it is case of ‘keep those faders up and stay tuned in!!"
