28th January 2009_Hayes and Harlington Youth Conference @ Uxbridge College
Â
The event, which took place on the evening of Wednesday, 28th January, was months in planning and brought young people in direct contact with local decision makers.Â
Young people gave a range of views, and while not all felt they were listened to, many felt this was a unique opportunity to facilitate some change in the area.Â
Sutish Sharma, Managing Editor said, "This was the first time a local radio station had engaged with young people at a such a close level, and again demonstrates that Hayes FM leads the way in demonstrating what local radio can do, should do, and is all about, and it does not have to cost the earth"Â
91.8 Hayes FM recorded a range of opinions and comments from young people as to what they would like to see in their area. These will be passed to the decision makers at the council and the many agencies that work with young people, to make sure the views are taken into account as the area regenerates, around the big local stories of Heathrow and Cross Rail.Â
It's what localness is all about, acting local, thinking global!!! Â
